Our Story

Our Story

World Bridge Foundation was founded by Ugandan musician and intercultural facilitator Herbert Kinobe, also known as Chinobay, and his wife Stella. Both were raised in Uganda under challenging circumstances, bound by a common experience of poverty.

Chinobay discovered his musical talent at a young age, beginning to tour Europe at the age of 9 and becoming a UNICEF child ambassador by 14. His music became a platform for advocacy, and his early international exposure planted the seeds for his lifelong mission to empower underprivileged children through the arts.

At the same time, Stella was facing the harsh realities of poverty. Her family struggled to afford basic needs like food and education. Determined to improve her life, Stella worked tirelessly to support herself through school, vowing that if she ever overcame these challenges, she would dedicate herself to helping others in need.

Chinobay's dedication to empowering children led to the creation of Dance of Hope, a program that uses music and dance to transform the lives of underprivileged children in Africa, providing them with the skills and opportunities to succeed. Through Dance of Hope, thousands of children have discovered a sense of purpose, self-esteem, and the chance to make global connections through their performances and residencies.

When Chinobay and Stella's paths crossed, their shared passion for uplifting children ignited a powerful partnership. Chinobay had already started extending arts education programs to schools and communities across the U.S., using the arts as a bridge to introduce global students to African culture. As their vision expanded, more people joined them in supporting their work.

In 2019, they formalized this vision by incorporating World Bridge Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting cultures and changing lives. Since its founding, the foundation has reached over 50,000 students in the U.S., sharing Africa’s rich cultural heritage through its programs, including one of Africa’s most impactful youth arts education initiatives, Dance of Hope.

World Bridge Foundation continues to be a beacon for cultural exchange, arts education, and empowerment, providing a platform for children and communities to thrive.
